About Dermaplaning

It effectively removes both dead skin cells and facial hair. This process results in a smooth surface, which is ideal for better makeup application. Beyond its hair removal benefits, dermaplaning enhances skincare product penetration and creates a flawless canvas for makeup application. Cosmetic dermatologists often utilize dermaplaning to prep the skin for more intensive procedures like laser treatments and chemical peels. While dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, it’s not recommended for those with acneic skin, particularly deep cystic acne. It’s advisable to wait until breakouts are clear before undergoing this treatment

Cosmetic benefits of dermaplaning may include:

  • Brighter, more youthful skin tone
  • Removal of small hairs or peach fuzz
  • Smoother skin texture
  • Evening out skin tone
  • Removal of bacteria and clearing pores to minimize breakouts
  • Better absorption of skin products
  • Mirror shine and glowing skin
  • Prep with dermaplaning before any special events
  • Can be added to skin peel, microneedling, deep cleanse or to any other facials

Will my hair grow back thicker, darker?

Your hair will grow back after dermaplaning, but it will return to its original appearance. If you naturally have darker hair, it may appear thicker when it regrows, but this is likely due to perception rather than actual changes in hair follicles. Dermaplaning involves shaving the ends of fine vellus hairs with a surgical blade, so there is no impact on the follicles themselves, and therefore no alteration in hair growth.

There is no downtime with Dermaplaning, you just have to follow the general after-care for facials. I recommend this as an ADD-ON service to any facials.
In terms of how often you can have one? I would say every 2-3 months is a great choice!

The treatment is painless, and it’s actually very relaxing.

Recommended every 2-3 months. Duration: 15 mins
