About Microneedling
Microneedling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, is a non-invasive procedure aimed at improving the health and appearance of the skin. 75% of our skin is made up of collagen, collagen is responsible for the firmness and firmness of our skin. Our collagen production is at its peak at the age of 25-28, then steadily declining and then completely stopping at the age of 50-60. Over time, however, its quality, i.e. its ability to bind water, also decreases. As a result, the skin loses its elasticity and firmness which leads to wrinkles. It addresses various skin issues, such as fine lines and scars from acne or injuries. However, significant results typically require multiple sessions (at least 3). Microneedling is an innovative facial rejuvenation treatment that uses tiny, sanitized needles to penetrate the top layer of the skin. These micro-wounds signal the body to repair the damaged area, causing the natural development of collagen and elastin, which are responsible for making skin firm and plump.
The depth at which the needles penetrate the skin is essential. Superficial needling, typically up to 1.5 millimeters, focuses on the epidermis to enhance texture and pigmentation. Between 1.5 to 2.5 millimeters, the stimulation reaches the dermis, addressing deeper wrinkles and scarring. This precision ensures customized results tailored to each client’s specific skin needs.

Why choose microneedling?
Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, naturally plumping the skin and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, offering non-invasive skin rejuvenation.
Microneedling can lighten dark circles and reduce under-eye puffiness, especially when combined with vitamin A or C-rich serums to enhance healing.
Enhanced product absorption and tightened pores from microneedling contribute to reducing acne by improving skin health and reducing inflammation.
Microneedling triggers the skin’s wound healing process, leading to the turnover of old cells and the development of new ones, reducing hyperpigmentation and sunspots for a more even skin tone.
Microneedling thickens the skin by stimulating collagen production, reducing the visibility of capillaries and spider veins, commonly seen with aging.
Microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin, enhancing the absorption and penetration of topical products, increasing their effectiveness in reaching the dermis.
Microneedling is effective for treating stretch marks and scars on various body areas, except for keloid scars, by promoting collagen production and skin regeneration.
Despite temporarily creating tiny openings, microneedling reduces the appearance of pores by inducing collagen production, plumping the skin and closing previously enlarged pores.
Microneedling helps reduce the appearance of rosacea by stimulating collagen production, addressing the underlying cause of hastened collagen breakdown and skin inflammation.
Skin recovery explained after microneedling
The duration of redness ( face will look like sunburn ) after microneedling varies depending on factors such as complexion, skin sensitivity, and the depth of needle penetration. It’s normal for certain areas of the face to be redder and more sensitive than others. Typically, the redness can last for at least 24 hours and may persist for up to three days. Many skin experts advise scheduling microneedling treatments before a weekend to allow time for the redness to subside.

Avoid these:
- Make-up for 3 days
- Washing your face 24 hrs
- Avoid scrubs and peels for 2 weeks
- Certain products for a week: retinol and reinoids, hydroquinone, Vit C, AHA,BHA, benzoyl peroxide
- Sunbathing , sun beds, self-tanning for 2 weeks
Avoid for 48 hours:
- Direct sun exposure
- Steam rooms and sauna
- Swimming
- Intense sweating, exercising
To help the skin’s recovery I recommend you taking good quality Vit C orally, Vit C meant to boost collagen production and aids skin healing. Please wear high factor SPF at least SPF 30, as Sun can damage your skin and cause pigmentation if you were not careful. Some skin dryness or flaky skin is normal to happen, this means your skin is renewing. Allow this to happen and don’t pick or scratch your skin. Moisturize your skin daily twice ( a.m and p.m ) or even more to relieve dryness and to help skin recovery. Avoid oily and greasy products within the 2 weeks healing. Use good quality serum before your moistrurizer for extra care and nourishment. Please check with me upon your visit what products you have at home, however I have various professional home-care products to purchase and take home with you!
How many sessions will I need?
We believe to achieve maximum results you may undergo 3 sessions, ( once every 3 -4 weeks) and to extend the effects we have created 6 sessions package as well. This treatment is fine as a one off before an event, wedding, or quick skin boost.
I usually advice my clients to try 3 sessions first and then we can decide whether to carry on for another 3 or give it a break. Microneedling can be done throught the year, but perhaps easier in the autumn/winter period.

What I use for the treatment?
I use mesoestetic – m.pen pro and mesoestetic skin serums brand for this facial. Microneedling is an advanced skin treatment rather than a facial. It’s a non-invasive and highly recommended skin treatment by dermatologists. The treatment isn’t so relaxing, we can’t do any face massage during your treatment. The treatment can be a bit uncomfortable due to tiny punctures of the skin, however it’s has been proven completely bearable. I personally love this facial and if you want to achieve visible changes of your skin than this is the one! You can combine Fire & Ice facial with microneedling, and you can add on Dermaplanning as well!
